We give you some practical and fun tips on how to save money.

Save energy – penny pinchers, did you realise that you’re throwing money down the drain every time you leave a light on or a computer plugged in. By cutting down on your electricity use, you’ll be putting some serious $$ back into your wallet.

Stop buying stuff – that’s right, the easiest way to save money is to stop spending it! The future of our planet is dependent on our society being mindful of our very limited resources – ask yourself if you really need the latest gadget and the newest model – or is your old one still working fine. Try and re-sell older items to make a little money if you do choose replace things.

Grow it, make it, re-use it – grow veggies in your garden and cut down on the food miles and packaging at your local supermarket. Re-use everything you can, bags, elastic bands, containers, cardboard – and be creative wherever you can!

Drive more efficiently – if you have to drive, plan your trips to be as efficient as possible and reduce the number you have to take. When driving accelerate slowly as it uses less petrol and will save you $ at the pump.

The Green Baby pic – okay not so much an eco tip, but apparently putting a baby picture in your wallet will increase the chances of having it returned to you. A large study done in the UK showed that wallets with baby pictures, almost 90 percent of “lost” wallets were returned – a simple way to hang on to your cash.
