When a 100 year old Oak Tree is scheduled to be cut down for development. The family of Asinka, an Osage princess who nurtured August from a young sapling and the forest animals come to his aid. Shukuru, the grandson of Asinka consults with the Forest Coucil and they collectively decide to bring the developers to “trial”. This is the promo video for the play. In the play the forest animals “testify” for the legacy of August during compelling courtroom scenes. Their testimonies are given through song, dance, laughter and tears. Finally August is called to testify during one of the most emotional moments of the play. This production is part of the “GREEN EARTH THEATER” Series.
