Green Car Hire Firm Gives Back to the Environment

The environment is in trouble is what we constantly hear from the government and former Vice Presidents of the United States, so we’re meant to all be driving low emission cars or not at all in some cases.

The trouble is that when you’re on holiday and you want to see and do everything that you’ve planned it is quite hard to do so without hiring a car as the holiday rep will not always be able to organize a coach trip to the sites you want to see, couple that with the fact that you’ll be working to a strict timetable and have to be back at the coach by a certain time.

You certainly didn’t come on holiday to march to the beat of someone else’s drum, so hiring a car is the only option.  But you needn’t feel guilty that you’re polluting the environment as much if you were to choose the new car hire firm that has green issues firmly in their agenda.
Some car hire firms lease cars out like any other car hire company but what makes them stand out is that they promise to plant a tree every time a car is rented.  The scheme is carried out by carbon off-setting companies that have cropped up over the past few years and the car hire firms claim that customers will not have to pay for this feature as they will be paying the cost themselves, helping to preserve the cheap car hire we all look for.

The tree that is planted in your name when you hire a car will likely go towards replacing rainforests in Borneo and Brazil, two places that have been hurt by de-forestation in the past.  The Cheap Car Hire firm believes that by partnering with carbon off-setting company it gives the message to customers that even a car hire business can do its bit towards looking after the environment.

The company at the moment has only a handful of offices in the UK but has plans to open at more locations in the future.  With the current mindset of the motoring industry that they need to change it wouldn’t surprise many people if this kind of practice becomes standard in a few years time.
